Fair Dinkum !

Ok, this is it then, our last day in "the lucky country". Last day and first real hangover, which had to be experienced due to the name of the blog. Our 40 hour voyage back to Finland begins in 1,5 hours, so we haven't got much to say. There's no time for pictures or videos either.

Anyway it's been rather lovely, especially yammy to be correct. ( I'm tired - kimi ). We'll see you (our finnish friends) soon, when you all come to Helsinki airport at 23.59 on Saturday.
Be there.

New pictures and videos ( e.g. bondi bitch ! ) are coming when we are back in Finland and have the time to do those, stay tuned even if this wasn't your cup of tea.

So, see you when you see me.

Cheers Australia, you've been fockin' awesome, and thanks for the readers as well.

Over and out.

Dig a hole and bury me, it doesn't get better than this !!

So, everything has gone so well that we haven't had the time to write here, sorry.

But yea, the last days in Cairns and  it's been awesome. Done some snorkling and scuba-diving in the Great Barrier Reef, wondering around the rainforest and of course swimming with crocodiles ( at least there might have been some ).

Also the local partylife has been checked out ! Quite different than in Sydney, in a better way though ! Indeed, Kimi even lost his shoes after a wild night out... He can't remember a thing, and it was a bit of a miracle that we found home that night, Riky just found Kimi walking around without shoes, completely wasted( hi mom ). We haven't just been too wasted to walk, we've also made loads of new friends ! E.g. Matt and his footy-team from Victoria, Australia; three finnish girls and a strange posse consisting of a Frenchman, some Germans and a huge guy from Malta.

All of the previous we met in the must-see nightclub in Cairns: Gilligan's.

Besides Gilligan's we also went to another famous club called the Woolshed, where the party looked like this:

So, that's all folks! The pictures from scuba are coming when we get them, probably going to put them when we are back in Finland.

Ps. Bondi Bitch ! - challenge has ended, Riky lost, the punishment will be executed tomorrow and posted as soon as possible.

Cheers, mates

Let's go surfing !

Well, indeed ! We heard from a local surf-shop owner that Manly beach ( which name comes from when many years back some governor kinda guy said that those aboriginals who stood on the beach looked manly ) is the best palce to learn to surf. So we packed our hats and jumped on the first ferry there. From Manly beach we found a nice fellow who was kind enough to lease us a surfboard and two wetsuits. With no previous experience we headed out to catch the huge waves, which actually were somewhat the smallest and the most gentle ones you can find out here. The following pictures will give you guys an idea of how easy it was !
I'm ready to rock'n'rolamo

This is hard...
Damnit !

No worries mate

Riky had another go which went rather well. Here's how it's supposed to be done.

Bondi Bitch !

Today we chilled out at Bondi Beach all day, sunbathing and swimming in the huge waves of the Pacific Ocean. No severe sunburns so far, though it was only our second sunny day since we arrived in Sydney...

Beyond the Black Stump

So, this post is basically just pictures with captions on them because we have been taking them and think that those are what you want to see. kivaa

Okay then, these first ones are from our way to Circular Quay and also a few from there.

"Pulu"

"Koivu"

Finally arrived at Circular Quay. Sydney Harbour Bridge in the pic

Some crazy ass nigga freaking out

"Helsinki"

"Kultuurikeskus"

Then after the bohemian experience we got back to our hotel and thought about checking out the Sydney nightlife....f*cking cultural differences... I think the video says it all.

After the hard time of struggling we got ourselves up and managed to go to the pool. Again. But this time the weather was awesome ! Sunshine, clear sky and the temperature was sky-high. Thank you Australia it was worth the wait.

There's something in the water... !

G'Day drongos!

Well hello there!

So, the first two days of exploring the world (by planes) are done and we managed to survive to the Land Down Under somehow without any major problems on the way. The picture of Riky is from Guangzhou's Baiyoun Airport, China where the air was unbelievably humid ( that's why the beers! )

We arrived to Sydney at 21.00pm and by then we had been travelling for over 30 hours. Yet after the room check-in we had to take a walk around the town. Surprisingly the amount of drunken people was just about the same as in Finland !

The weather isn't as expected, temperature today ( 14 oct 2011 ) was 15-17 celsius and very windy and cloudy ( rain is expected ) but because this is our summer holiday, we woke up at 6.00am and simply had to swim in the roofpool !

And now for the first video-post, cool ! You might notice that it was also the first ever made by Riky, maybe not the smoothest guy on video :D Anyway, enjoy !

12.10.2011

8,5 hours to go... !

Luggage - check
Passport - check
Money - check
Passport - double check
Banana costume - check
Joakim - check... I guess...

Looks pretty good, I'd say.

The feeling right now is somewhat unreal, we actually made it this far !
There ain't too many people who can say they believed in us when we first had the idea of going to Australia. ...Could be because of the fact that we were both pretty drunk when announcing to people that "WE'aRe GooiNg to AusTRaalia !!!"

Anyway, here I am, trying figure out something to do with all this energy. 5 hours to wake-up and I couldn't even sleep if I wanted. I checked the weather in Sydney for the rest of the week... rainy.... but next week should be sunny and warm, sounds like Bondi beach to me !

Well, enough if this shit, I'll get back to you when I actually have something cool to say.

Cheers,
Riky

Ps. A picture is worth a thousand words, so here's a picture that describes my current state of mind quite well.

Little bit of information about Australia if ya'll are so left behind as some people seem to be.

These are actual questions from a Australian Tourism Website, where they had an inbox for ignorant visitors to ask something proper or-so-those-who-asked-thought about the country. Website's admins must have really great sense of humor figuring by the answers.  At least I had a great laugh, enjoy:

Q: Does it ever get windy in Australia ? I have never seen it rain on TV,
how do the plants grow? ( UK )
A: We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around watching them
die. _____________________________ _____________________
